We are seeking a skilled Telecoms Engineer to join our team, focusing on Mission Critical environments with an emphasis on data centre design.
What does the role involve?
You'll lead large telecoms design projects from start to finish managing project timescales and deliveries as well as producing drawings, schematics and specifications to industry/client standards ensuring projects are completed on time and on budget.
You'll design technology systems including Outside Plant (OSP) and Inside Plant (ISP), Active Network, Passive Network, Network Room Design, Containment, Wifi, ROIP, DAS and Audio/Visual.
Delivering coordinated designs and working with design team members is a key part of the role, you'll ensure all requirements by others are included and delivered to the required standards. You'll conduct project meetings, documenting key decisions and deviations, input into client fee proposals, track project budgets and invoicing schedules as well as maintain accurate timesheets and expense reports.
In addition you'll keep your knowledge up to date by attending client and industry events and contacting product manufacturers to discover the latest products within the field, and then sharing your technical knowledge with the team and supporting them.
What do you need to be successful in the role?
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Telecoms infrastructure, working with some of the largest businesses to ensure robust and reliable network systems design within data centres.
We are looking for someone with meticulous attention to detail and a strong commitment to complying with industry standards, local regulations, and best practices for telecoms infrastructure. The ideal candidate should be technically adept, an excellent communicator, and experienced in handling complex projects with high-performance expectations.
Proven expertise in the design of telecoms systems for data centres is essential. The ability to work collaboratively with architects, civil engineers and other key stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of telecoms solutions is crucial. Additionally, you should have sharp problem-solving skills for fast troubleshooting and resolution of design issues to ensure the reliability of Mission Critical operations.
You'll Also Possess
- A Bachelors degree in Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Significant experience in Telecoms design including the disciplines mentioned above.
- Proficiency in Autodesk Construction Cloud platform (ACC), PDF Editing Suite e.g. Bluebeam Studio, Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workplace.
- Experience in Autodesk AutoCAD and Revit it preferred but not essential.
