About The Role
The Temporary Works Coordinator will compile and periodically update a Temporary Works Schedule with all relevant information and to periodically review the schedule with the Temporary Works Designer and Project Lead.
What you'll be doing
Support the Project Team with technical guidance, leadership, site safety
and monitor the project's performance to maximise efficiency and project
delivery.
Coordinate with all parties involved in the design and construction of
temporary works, to the extent required to deliver safe technical solutions.
Liaise with clients to determine if schemes may affect the public and to
ascertain approval process and certification required.
Prepare/review the design brief for adequacy/completeness prior to issue
to Temporary Works Design and ensure that the designer complies with
the design brief and adequately describes the residual risks.
Ensure that an adequate Temporary Works Design is carried out and Manage the progress of the design and act as a key interface with Construction Team to understand their requirements and timescales.
Ensure that the duration for temporary works designs, checking and
construction are realistically timed in the construction programme
Discuss any changes to the design with the TWD and manage the design
change process.
Ensure that Temporary Works Design Check Confirmation/Approval forms
are issued (ENG-SF-4004).
Ensure that the risk assessment and mitigation plan is adhered to so
technical risks are managed effectively, during pre-construction and
delivery phases.
Support the Project team with the delivery of Permanent &Temporary
Works design requirements and construction activities, construction risk
and mitigation, method statements and work package plans.
Carry out technical, quality and compliance audit inspections of Temporary
Works prior to loading and unloading, to ensure only competent personnel
is carrying out on-site duties (e.g. TWS) and project is following applicable
standards and practices, with respect to Temporary Works requirements.
Draw up and agree with site team a list of ‘hold points’ for certain
operations for which inspection is required prior to work progressing further.
Inspect temporary works installations to ensure they are in line with the
designs, and monitor any change on site for submission of significant
revisions to the designer for re-design.
Who we're looking for
HNC / HND Civil Engineering (preferred, Not Essential)
Charted Engineer – Ceng (preferred) or IEng
Relevant experience in a Temporary Works Coordinator role, on railway infrastructure projects, or similar, of relevant type and complexity to this project.
Detailed knowledge of BS5975:2019 and its application on live projects
Collaborative and influential leadership skills
Excellent communication, with ability to listen, provide clear and concise
instruction during normal and emergency situations, is assertive and
shares information effectively.
Self-motivated and driven, with ability to multi-task, prioritise and remain
calm under pressure.
Conscientious, with systematic and thorough approach and has positive
attitude towards rules, process and procedures.
Capable of making an effective, timely decision and taking appropriate
action, with willingness to face challenges, diagnose and solve problems
and take responsibility for the outcome.
