The Transpennine Route Upgrade Project (TRU) is a circa £2b multi-disciplinary project upgrading the existing railway route between Manchester and Leeds through the Pennines. It is the largest rail and infrastructure project in the north of England.
Your mission
Key Tasks
- Overall responsibility for the coordination of the Temporary Works across the construction site, regardless of which contractor is completing the works.
- Single point of contact for providing and receiving Temporary work information.
- Ensuring that information relevant to the project has been received as appropriate.
- Receiving and providing information to other TWC (if approved to manage their own areas of projects)
- Ensuring coordination of all contractor and subcontractor TWCs and TWSs
- Identifying all temporary work requirements and keeping an up-to-date Master Register of Temporary Works
- Sole authority to allow loading of the temporary works and issue permits to control the TW on site (load, unload, strip, strike, etc.)
- Ensuring a design brief is prepared with consultation with the project team that is brief is accurate to actual situation on site Ensuring a design check is carried out by a competent authority who was not involved with the original design
- Formalising an inspection and test plan alongside quality control check lists to verify Temporary Works meet certified design standards
- Ensuring adequate checks are carried out upon completion of the Temporary Works to confirm no adverse effects on the Permanent Works and certification signed by TWD and TWDC.
Who are we looking for?
- Previous experience as a Temporary work Coordinator on a project of similar scale and complexity.
- Current CITB Temporary Works Coordinator certification.
- Working knowledge of Temporary work management procedures, particularly BS:5975.
- Experience in design and/or engineering management.
- A degree in civil engineering or equivalent is desirable.
- Proven knowledge of Network Rail standards and approval processes is highly advantageous.
- Working knowledge of the CDM 2015 Regulations, in particular the Designer and Principal contractor roles.
- Chartership or incorporation with IStructE, ICE, or other appropriate professional body.
