We are seeking a proactive and safety-conscious
Terminal Operator to join our dedicated team at Huskisson Dock. Working as part of a close-knit group of 11 Operators on a 24/7 shift rotation, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and secure handling of marine fuel products.
This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, outdoor environment and is committed to maintaining high standards in health, safety, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the safe receipt, storage, and transfer of marine fuel products.
- Conduct cargo transfers between vessels and the terminal.
- Blend products to precise specifications using in-terminal systems.
- Perform tank gauging and assist with monthly stock reconciliations.
- Maintain accurate digital records of all product movements.
- Monitor and manage product temperatures to ensure quality.
- Ensure all operations comply with HSSEQ (Health, Safety, Security, Environment & Quality) standards.
- Complete all required documentation for cargo movements.
- Support terminal safety roles such as First Aid and Fire Warden duties.
- Take pride in maintaining a clean and orderly terminal environment.
Essential
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Strong numeracy skills (e.g. calculating blend percentages).
- Willingness to work shifts, including nights and weekends.
- Experience working to strict Health & Safety protocols.
- Comfortable working at heights (up to 16 metres).
- A reliable team player who can also work independently.
- Access to own transport.
Desirable
- Experience in ship-to-shore operations (COG – Chemical, Oil & Gas).
- Basic understanding of engineering principles.
- Forklift Truck (FLT) licence.
- First Aid and/or Fire Warden certification.
