Test Analyst

Location: Hybrid - London

Package: Negotiable + Benefits

The day to day:

The main focus will be to define test plans, QA bespoke insurance products and be the focal point for all software before releasing to production environments. You will be responsible for creating, specifying and delivering QA for both our underwriting platform and management information platforms.

We are looking for someone from an insurance background as this role will require in-depth knowledge of both the Company and Lloyd’s insurance markets. Must have the ability to learn quickly, adapt to a changing environment and be able to communicate with all levels of staff. As we continue to grow our company the complexity of our products will continue to increase and broaden so a good understanding of insurance products is essential. Our Policy Administration system is configured in-house, and you will work closely with the internal technology team.

The successful candidate must additionally have the ability to drive best practice, be aware of changes in the Insurance and business market and technology and have ideas that go beyond the day to day systems testing. You will also embrace new technologies and lead the automation of our regression test packs.

Regression testing of monthly system releases to our underwriting platform. Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases.
QA our management reports when new developments have taken place.
Test new product wordings being released to the business, working closely with the developers.
Maintain and report defects found, and where appropriate work with suppliers to resolve and give additional information
Support end users and business functions with their ongoing requirements ensuring the integrity of the data and analysis of new changes to products.
Must be willing to accept the peaks that this role brings eg. Binder renewals, Quarterly Board reports, Monthly accounting etc.
As the role grows offer first line support to the business, train users and business areas on the functionality of the Data Warehouse and our Underwriting platform.

About you:

Extensive testing experience
Self-drive, able to work on own initiative

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Able to communicate with all levels accurately and effectively

Experience of writing test script and executing regression packs

A good understanding of SQL and Relational databases is essential

Ability to query data to a high degree of accuracy

Able to take ownership of test projects and see them through to a satisfactory conclusion

Experience of working with external suppliers and being able to communicate and replicate issues to them

Understanding commercial insurance life cycle and products is essential. Experience of London/Lloyd’s markets. Any experience of Lloyds’ reporting would be a nice to have

Strong experience of using Excel

Experience of Pseudocode or programming would be beneficial but not essential ie understanding Else logic and able to show competency in this area

Any automated testing would also be a nice to have.

Working in an Agile environment is desirable.
