The Board of Electors to the Professorship of Data-Intensive Mathematical Physics invite applications for this Professorship held in the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics (DAMTP) from persons whose work uses modern data-driven techniques, such as AI, to address significant open research questions in mathematical physics, to take up appointment as soon as possible.

Candidates will have an outstanding research record of great international stature and scientific achievements. They will have the vision, leadership, experience and enthusiasm to build on current strengths maintaining and developing a leading research presence. They will hold a PhD or equivalent postgraduate qualification.

Experience in encouraging undergraduate and graduate students from groups underrepresented in STEM subjects, including women, would be an advantage.

Standard professorial duties include teaching and research, examining, supervision and administration. The Professor will be based in Cambridge. A competitive salary will be offered.
