Job Overview
Theatre and Mediroom Receptionist Band 2
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Receptionist within Theatre and Medirooms at North Bristol NHS Trust.
The successful candidate will work as part of the Theatres and Medirooms reception team to deliver a co-ordinated and responsive service to patients, their relatives, visitors and staff, carrying out a range of reception and administrative duties in relation to the day-to-day running of the reception areas.
Main duties of the job
- Receive patients, their relatives and other visitors into the theatres and medirooms suite and promote an efficient, courteous and responsive service.
- Use relevant computer systems to ensure that all patients are correctly admitted, transferred and discharged.
- Ensure that all patient information is accurately entered onto the hospital computer system.
- Deal with the initial handing of incoming telephone calls and enquiries, ensuring that they are passed onto the appropriate person if necessary.
- Liaise closely with medical secretaries and waiting list co-ordinators regarding hospital admissions and day case bookings.
- Request and trace notes in an accurate and timely manner.
- Prepare admission folders.
- Print theatre schedules on a daily basis and distribute to theatres.
- Undertake general office duties eg. filing, faxing, photocopying.
- Act as central reporting and information point for maintenance and suppliers eg. reporting of photocopier repairs, building faults, etc.
- Process incoming and outgoing mail and distribute accordingly.
- Participate in the training of new reception staff.
- Carry out any other duties as required that are commensurate with the grade and nature of the services.
