The Northamptonshire Centre for Oncology would like to hear from HCPC registered radiographers, or students due to qualify, who are ready to join our team of radiographer working in rotational posts across treatment and pre-treatment. Experience of working in a department achieving accreditation to ISO 9001:2015 is essential.
Our patients are fully supported through their Radiotherapy journey by our team of review radiographers and independent prescribers who work closely with the planning and treating teams.
To be a technically competent Radiographer capable of working in all main areas of the department (treatment, pre-treatment, and calculation room).
To be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the assigned work area within the Radiotherapy department, ensuring the safe and accurate delivery or planning of radiotherapy treatment.
To supervise and provide clinical leadership to the students within the assigned work area, ensuring all staff work within Trust and departmental policies and guidelines.
To participate in the shift and on call rotas to provide a comprehensive service to the
patients in line with RCR and NICE guidance.
To act in accordance within the Radiographers Professional Code of Conduct at all times, HCPC standards also need to be met to ensure registration is maintained.
Maintain portfolio of CPD evidence as required to meet HCPC standards.
To ensure requirements of IR(ME)R 2017 and Ionising Radiation Regulations (IRR17) are met.
To comply with all policies and procedures with the departmental Quality System, providing input to updating documents as required.
To ensure all equipment is safe for clinical use on a daily basis, performing Q.A. checks and reporting any discrepancies as described in the handover procedure. Equipment must also be kept clean and stored correctly.
Complete the competency portfolios for each work area, ensuring tasks are only undertaken unsupervised once competency is confirmed
Supporting, training and supervising students and other junior radiographic staff within the assigned work area.
