This post is based within the MSK Physiotherapy and Hand Therapy Department at Diana Princess of Wales Hospital Grimsby and involves the delivery of therapeutic intervention to those who require rehabilitation following injury or illness. The post holder will become a valued part of an integrated Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy team providing a service to those attending the Out-Patient Physiotherapy and Hand Therapy department. The aim of this service is to work with patients, families and the wider multidisciplinary team to improve function following injury or illness and assist in self-management of long term conditions.
Regular clinical supervision and an in-house training programme will be provided to enable the post holder to develop the knowledge and skills necessary to undertake the role competently and confidently. You will be supported to complete a self-assessment checklist around your current competencies and supported through a career development portfolio. This post combines administrative and patient facing clinical responsibilities once an appropriate level of competence has been demonstrated.
This post offers the challenges and rewards of working with people to maintain or restore function, maximise rehabilitation potential and plan for long-term management. High levels of personal resilience, self-motivation and professionalism are required to maintain a person-centred, compassionate focus in the fast paced and demanding environment of a busy out-patient setting. The role offers the opportunity to support people through their rehabilitation journey within a multidisciplinary team. The post holder will work under the direct supervision or alongside registered therapists but will at times be asked to deliver interventions on their own.
