This post is only open to current employees of the Herefordshire & Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust, Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust & ICB.
This post is for 22.5 hours per week, to work over 3 days- between Monday and Friday. The post will align with the clinical tissue viability nursing service.
The team is a countywide team also supporting some services in Herefordshire who offer advice and clinical expertise in wound care across all services within the organisation and nursing homes as well as offering advice to practice nurses.
This role will require the post holder to travel across the county to meet with teams and support them with from a tissue viability quality governance perspective. This will include neighbourhood teams, community hospitals and specialist teams. There may be occasions when it is appropriate to work from home.

This is a fixed term post due to time limited nature of the funding which will end March 2026. We reserve the right to end this contract sooner with appropriate notice.
Main duties of the job
This role is to support the delivery of excellent tissue viability care across Herefordshire and Worcestershire Health and Care Trust and in the community by facilitating governance processes and ensuring compliance with clinical standards, managing risks and promoting continuous improvement in wound care and pressure ulcer prevention. The role will include a requirement to ensure all policies are up to date and evidence based, audits and quality improvement initiatives are undertaken, and education is delivered across all clinical teams to maximise the effectiveness of tissue viability care.
The post holder will be required to visit community and ward based clinical teams to establish any gaps in knowledge and skills and to provide and deliver bespoke training packages to support clinical excellence.
There will be a requirement to work closely with the Director of Nursing, the Tissue Viability Nursing Lead and the tissue viability nursing team to support process improvement, KPI achievement and ensure the core capabilities framework is embedded within the nursing team and across the organisation.

- RGN with valid NMC registration
- BSC (Hons) or equivalent qualification and/or experience
- Educated to a Masters level or equivalent qualification and/or experience
- A teaching and assessing or mentorship qualification or relevant equivalent experience
- Specialist qualification in Tissue Viability or equivalent experience
- I understand that I will be asked to provide original certificates to verify my qualifications at point of offer.
