Who We Are:
Cingularity a highly specialised global fibre network provider enabling premium live broadcast TV transmission. Our obsession with quality, performance, and network resilience, has allowed us to deliver services for companies including Amazon Prime, Warner Brothers Discovery, and ATP Media, where we are trusted to carry the live TV signals destined for their global TV audiences. Cingularity was acquired by IMG Media in September 2022 to provide the expertise to guide IMG’s remote production evolution toward a hybrid model of fibre, satellite, cloud and IP.
We are looking for a Dedicated TOC Network Engineer to provide dedicated, expert technical support, monitoring, and operational management for services delivered under a contract with a major British football league, utilising Cingularity's global network and IP platforms. Based at IMG Studios, Stockley Park, these roles are crucial for ensuring the flawless, high-availability delivery of content for this major league (including world feeds, matchday feeds, and associated content services) to global broadcasters, primarily during live matchday operations. Working within the 24/7 Technical Operations Centre (TOC) environment, successful candidates will become subject matter experts on the specific network, video, and monitoring technologies deployed for this high-profile contract. These fixed-term roles require a strong blend of network and broadcast engineering expertise, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to excel under the pressure of live, tier-1 sports broadcasting.

What You'll Do:
Technical Operations & Monitoring
- Coordinate and execute all technical aspects of live transmissions for the client contract, including service check-in, configuration validation, active monitoring oversight, and check-out procedures.
- Perform continuous, expert-level monitoring and proactive management across network, video, and system domains daily. Key areas include:
Network:
- Monitor the Cingularity core network (NetInsight Nimbra DTM & Arista IP) and edge devices using various monitoring systems, such as Nimbra Vision and Zabbix.
- Configure, monitor and perform first and second line troubleshooting on IP transport streams (IP RTP, ST 2022-7, SRT) and underlying network routing/switching (Arista, OSPF, BGP).
Video:
- Monitor client video service quality using Multiviewers and specialised probes (TAG MCM/MCS, Bridgetech VB330).
- Perform daily configuration, operation, and first and second line troubleshooting of core video encoding platforms (Mediakind, Appear, NetInsight MSR).
Systems:
- Monitor health and performance of underlying servers and operating systems (Linux, Windows) using Zabbix and Grafana.
- Responding to system-level alerts and performing initial troubleshooting.
- Provide direct customer support via phone, email, and talkback, address service issues and other inquiries, and collaborate with partners and suppliers as needed.
- Proactively identify and address potential issues before they impact service delivery.
- Complete the provisioning of new services, including occasional use services.
Incident Management & Resolution:
- Resolve service issues impacting the client contract, working from initial investigation to final resolution across network, video, and system domains, minimising service impact.
- Log, analyse, and act upon all incidents promptly, producing detailed incident reports and root cause analyses for the client according to agreed procedures.
- Contribute to post-incident reviews, identifying root causes and documenting lessons learned to drive continuous improvement and prevent recurrence.
- Assist in developing and improving incident management and disaster recovery plans relevant to the contract.
Process, Documentation & Improvement
- Contribute to reviewing, refining, and documenting TOC workflows, processes, and procedures, especially those relating to the specific technologies used for the client.
- Maintain accurate records of network configurations, service documentation, and incident logs.
- Adhere strictly to the change management process for all service modifications.
- Contribute to the ongoing maintenance, upgrades, patching, and security hardening across the network (NetInsight Nimbra MSR, Arista, Techex TX Edge), video (Mediakind CE1, Appear X20, TAG, Bridgetech), and underlying system infrastructure.
- Contribute to evaluating new technologies, tools, and systems to improve TOC capabilities for the contract.
Team Contribution
- Participate actively in team rotas to ensure dedicated coverage for match days and associated support/maintenance activities.
- Foster a culture of high performance, collaboration, continuous learning, and customer focus within the TOC and MCR teams.
- Contribute to evaluating new technologies, tools, and systems to improve TOC capabilities.
You Will Have The Following Strengths:
- Proven experience as a Network Engineer or Broadcast Engineer within a live broadcast or media transmission environment.
- Strong knowledge of Broadcast environments and workflows, particularly live sports.
- Hands-on experience with IP networking protocols and concepts crucial for media transport (TCP/IP, UDP, RTP, Multicast, ST 2022-7, SRT).
- Demonstrable experience configuring and troubleshooting network equipment (e.g., Cisco, Arista, Net Insight).
- Experience operating and troubleshooting professional video encoders (e.g., Mediakind, Appear).
- Experience using professional video monitoring tools and probes (e.g., TAG, Bridgetech).
- Familiarity with system monitoring tools (e.g., Zabbix, Grafana, Nagios).
- Proficiency in Office 365 or G-Suite, with excellent working Excel or Google Sheets knowledge.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
- Proven record of providing an exceptional customer experience.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to remain focused under pressure.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills across network, video and system domains.
- The ability to follow and develop operational processes to a high standard.
- Drive to build deep expertise on the specific technologies deployed.

- Flexibility to work unsociable hours as required to cover sporting events.
Advantageous:
- Specific operational experience with Net Insight Nimbra MSR/DTM, Arista EOS, and Techex TX Edge platforms.
- Specific hands-on experience with Mediakind Encoders, Appear Encoders, TAG MCM/MCS Probes, and Bridgetech VB330 Probes.
- Experience with standard routing protocols such as OSPF and BGP.
- Deeply understand video/audio encoding (MPEG-4 AVC, HEVC) and transport stream analysis.
- Knowledge of fibre optical technologies with experience in deployments and troubleshooting.
- Proficient in Windows and Linux operating systems; MacOS familiarity is a plus.
- Experience with booking systems (e.g., MediaPulse) and/or automation systems.
