Trelleborg Sealing Solutions is a leading global supplier of polymer-based critical sealing solutions and components for general industry, automotive, and aerospace. We are one of three Business Areas within the Trelleborg Group and have about 6,000 employees worldwide.
The Tooling & Maintenance Engineering Technician is a hands-on role that combines precision tooling fabrication with maintenance support for machinery and facilities. The position plays a key role in ensuring tools are prepared and machines remain in good working condition to support production agility, equipment reliability, and site safety. This enables the business to respond quickly to new orders and designs while minimising downtime.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Tool Fabrication: Manufacture and refurbish tooling to technical drawings using both manual and CNC equipment. Ensure work is delivered on time, to specification, and to required quality standards.
- Tool Design & Development: Work closely with design teams to interpret engineering drawings and develop tooling solutions that meet evolving product, machinery, and process needs.
- Maintenance Activities: Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on production machinery and facility equipment. Diagnose faults and perform effective repairs to reduce downtime.
- Innovation & Problem Solving: Provide timely, practical engineering solutions to support manufacturing. Recommend and implement improvements to tooling and production processes.
- Workshop Standards: Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop through proactive housekeeping and adherence to safety procedures.
- Continuous Improvement: Support Manufacturing Excellence and Continuous Improvement initiatives by contributing to process optimisation and operational efficiency.
- Mentorship & Collaboration: Share technical knowledge across teams and support the development of colleagues, including mentoring apprentices.
The Ideal Candidate
Education
- Apprentice-trained engineering qualification or equivalent technical certification.
Experience
- Demonstrated experience in precision machining, tool design, and fabrication
- Hands-on experience with both planned and reactive maintenance of industrial machinery and facilities equipment
- Skilled in manual and CNC milling and turning

This position is based on-site at Bridgwater. Trelleborg must ensure that anyone we’re looking to employ is legally allowed to work in the UK before their employment begins.
