Description

My client, a leading global trading firm, is seeking a Trade Support / Systems Engineer to join their London-based team.

The successful individual will have 5+ years of experience in trade support, site reliability engineering, or a closely related technical role, ideally gained within a high-performance trading or financial technology environment. You will bring a strong STEM background alongside hands-on experience supporting complex, distributed Linux-based systems in production.

Working closely with traders, infrastructure teams, and software engineers, you will play a key role in maintaining the health, availability, and performance of critical trading systems. You will proactively diagnose issues, respond to incidents during high-impact trading periods, and contribute to the onboarding of new desks and platforms.

Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals is essential, including experience with multicast networking and distributed messaging systems. Familiarity with containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes), monitoring and alerting tooling, and automation using scripting or programming languages such as Python, Go, or Bash is highly beneficial.
