The Company
Due to the continued growth and success of the business our client - a £100m t/o + wholesale protein trading business is seeking to hire an operational Trading Director to manage the trading team and be a major contributor to the ongoing growth of the trading division. The company specialises in the wholesale supply of meat and poultry helping butchers, large catering firms and food processors get food in bulk per specific requirements. The role will report to CEO. The trading Director will manage the trading team and lead from the front.
Role requirements
- Verifiable extensive Protein trading experience (Beef/Poultry)
- An entrepreneurial mindset coupled with their own high value black book/potential customers
- Committed, motivated and ambitious to grow the trading arm of the business
- Hands-on and operational themselves as a trader to lead by example
- Product/category knowledge predominantly Beef / Poultry but also Lamb and pork
- Macro-economic awareness of the intricacies of supply shortage and excess
- Commodity insight and the impact of weather, transportation and geopolitics
- A robust personality with verifiable experience of managing traders and customers, whilst displaying humility and emotional intelligence to act as a chameleon to operate successfully with a wide variety of personalities
- Gravitas to operate and liaise professionally at board level
- Confidence coupled with decisiveness and commercial acumen in order to grow the team and order book with sustainable revenue growth
- Ability to professionalize the trading processes by establishing a CRM
The Rewards
- Salary £100,000 to £150,000
- Market leading uncapped bonus
