Join Cumberland Council as a Traffic Management Manager
Are you ready to lead a dynamic team shaping the future of traffic management across Cumberland? We're looking for an experienced professional to manage a county-wide team delivering vital traffic schemes—from casualty reduction and cycleways to parking and temporary traffic orders. You’ll be the go-to expert for all things traffic, coordinating with Community Panels and advising senior stakeholders on legislation, policy, and technical matters.
To thrive in this role, you’ll need a relevant degree or NVQ Level 5, membership of a professional body, and substantial senior-level experience—ideally in highways or civil engineering. Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and communication skills are essential, along with a commitment to safety and service innovation. In return, you’ll enjoy working in a collaborative, safety-focused environment with responsibility for budgets up to £3 million and the chance to make a real impact across the region.
This role is available on a permanent basis.
