The Emergency Department at St Thomas' Hospital London is looking to recruit a highly motivated, Trainee Emergency Nurse Practitioner to join our cross site Urgent Treatment Centre (Guys and St Thomas'.)
This an exciting opportunity to join our team and help shape and support the development of the service. The department would provide bespoke in-house training as part of this position, alongside supervised practice.
The successful applicant would be expected to have the flexibility to work across all areas of the Emergency Floor alongside their role and a Trainee ENP.
This is an autonomous post working within a set of parameters to treat patients presenting with minor injuries and minor illness conditions. The position is part of a 24 hour ENP service, Emergency Department experience is essential. ‘
Acts as an autonomous practitioner in the care and management of patients with minor injuries attending the Emergency Department/Urgent Treatment Centre at St Thomas’ Hospital and the Urgent Treatment Centre at Guys Hospital.
Provides specialist advice in minor injuries to patients and the multidisciplinary team
Act as an expert resource and facilitator to educate and train other staff, and students, thus providing specialist care for patients
Responsible for developing communication pathways with key stakeholders including outside agencies, and commissioners.
The post holder will be involved in the development of practice
Accountable for own specialist professional practice
The post holder will be responsible for contributing to the ongoing development of clinical practice, research and standards of care within the service, including development of policies, protocols and guidelines and contribute to service developments in collaboration with multidisciplinary colleagues.
Ensures the safety and well being of service users, and always working in a manner that promotes dignity and human rights through the adoption of person centered care principles.
