Trainee Service Technician

As a Trainee Service Technician, you will become familiar with Lely products and develop the knowledge and skills required to perform the necessary tasks to install and maintain equipment, whilst being supervised and supported by experienced Service Technicians.

What We Are Looking For

• Previous service experience in dairy-related industry is preferred but not essential;
• Has previous experience, and/or a relevant qualification in service, mechanical or electrical engineering;
• Must possess a valid driver’s license;
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
• Ability to problem solve;

What does the role involve

• Maintenance of barn products on customer farms, as required, supported by Service Technicians;
• Travelling to job sites to observe Service Technicians and gain practical experience about robotic milking equipment;
• Working closely with staff to foster professional values and build good relationships, including customer care;
• Liaising with Stock Control, ensure own vans are fully equipped with parts required and replenished as required;
• Responsible for care of company vehicle and equipment within it. This also includes accurate record keeping in relation to all travel and regular reporting to Accounts on a weekly basis;
• Completion of SL1 Lely mandatory training and exams;
• Gain experience of using Lely software.
