About the Role
As our Transactional Finance Manager, you’ll lead and optimise the end-to-end transactional finance processes, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing activities and cash management ensuring alignment with our financial and strategic objectives. The role is pivotal in ensuring financial accuracy, operational efficiency, and compliance while driving continuous improvement initiatives to support the company's corporate plan.
Key Responsibilities will include:
· Collaborating and building strong relationships with key stakeholders, working closely with customers, both internal and external.
· Ensuring a positive customer experience and offering strategic insight that will help inform and support the Leadership Team and Board of Trustees to make the best financial decisions for the institute in line with our strategic goals.
· Managing and optimising the accounts payable, accounts receivable and billing functions to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant processing of income and expenditure, contributing to healthy cash flow management, supplier & customer relationships, and audit readiness.
· Lead, mentor, and develop a team, ensuring their professional growth and cross-functional collaboration.
· Monitor, review and refine transactional processes to ensure full compliance with finance policies, regulatory (inc VAT) and charity standards enhancing efficiency and risk management.
· Proactive management of payment cycles and vendor terms optimising cash flow.
About You
The ideal candidate will hold the following skills and/ or experience:
· Experience with transactional finance including AP and AR functions, as well as experience with treasury and general accounting
· Experience of managing a team
· Strong cash flow management skills, including forecasting
· Be part qualified or studying towards accounting qualification (CIMA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent).
· Experience working in a not-for-profit or membership-based organisation.
· Knowledge of charity VAT and partial exemption and how they apply to charities or membership organisations.
· Knowledge and understanding of Direct Debit Collections process.
