The Divisional Director – RDO (Technology) is a senior member of SJP’s transformation office (the ‘Results Delivery Office’, or ‘RDO’). The role-holder will provide leadership and oversight of several high-profile projects at SJP. At times, the role-holder will be hands on in supporting projects and solving problems and issues that arise.
As well as providing oversight to projects, the Divisional Director – RDO (Technology) will take overall responsibility for managing the technology and digital components of the transformation. The role holder will work closely with the Chief Technology Officer, and be responsible for the overall planning and implementation of the technology roadmap for the transformation. The role holder will maintain a unified, strategic view of the technology efforts across the organisation, working collaboratively with the technology function to maintain alignment.
What you'll be doing:
- Provide leadership and direction to ensure that strategic projects deliver the benefits they have been designed to achieve.
- Oversee strategic projects to ensure that project strategies align with the organisation’s objectives.
- At times provide more hands-on support to strategic projects to solve problems and deal with issues that could de-rail their success.
- Ensure that strategic projects are properly scoped, and goals and deliverables are identified. Make sure that interdependencies between projects are identified and managed.
- Build and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including executive committee members who will act as sponsors for many of the initiatives we establish.
- Ensure that projects have the right resources and capabilities to deliver.
- Oversee and manage the technology aspect of the transformation effort.
- Work with the Chief Technology Officer to develop proper outcome metrics to track across technology projects.
- In collaboration with business owners, manage relationships with technology vendors
- Act as liaison between the technology executive leadership and strategic project execution teams.
- Communicate progress of the technology area as part of the transformation; actively communicating up and down the organisation.
Essential Criteria
- Must be confident in communicating with all levels, up to GEC.
- Strong track record of leading change effectively
- Demonstrable experience in being able to understand problems and set a strategy to navigate those, while managing stakeholders through that
- Demonstrable experience of managing individuals outside of your direct report
Desirable Criteria
- Demonstrable experience of Technology transformation
