Wipro is looking for a Transition Manager with previous experience of the UK Savings & Retirement sector, particularly both individual and workforce pensions. This is a new role which will be at the heart of the growth agenda for the organisation. The role will have a primary focus on supporting the successful delivery and execution of major strategic programmes and projects

As a Transition Manager you will be a part of the Insurance Practice where we help insurance companies transform the way they do business through digital powered customer experience & analytics/cognition enabled business transformation. Our transformation consulting framework enables modernization & complete digitalization of insurance organization. Leading practices include - Sales & Distribution Transformation, POS Transformation, Underwriting Transformation, Claims Transformation.


Purpose of the Role:


This role involves ensuring that new or changed services are effectively integrated into the operational environment with minimal disruption, while maintaining service levels and achieving organizational goals. The role requires strong project management, stakeholder engagement, and a deep understanding of IT service management principles and processes.

Your Responsibilities:

As the Transition Manager you will:


Key Responsibilities:

• Service Transition Lifecycle Management: Leading and managing the entire lifecycle of IT service transitions, including planning, execution, and stabilization phases.

• Project Delivery: Ensuring that transitions are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

• Stakeholder Management: Collaborating with various stakeholders, including business users, IT teams, and external vendors, to ensure smooth transitions.

• Risk Management: Identifying and mitigating potential risks associated with service transitions, ensuring business continuity.

• Knowledge Transfer:

Facilitating knowledge transfer to operational teams, ensuring they have the necessary skills and documentation to support new or changed services.

• Service Acceptance Criteria: Defining and agreeing on service acceptance criteria, and ensuring that transitions meet these criteria.

• Process Improvement: Identifying opportunities to improve service transition processes and methodologies.

• Financial Management: Managing project financials, including forecasting and reporting

Mandatory Skills/Experience:

• Strong Project Management Skills: Experience in leading and managing complex IT projects, including planning, execution, and monitoring.

• ITIL Knowledge: In-depth understanding of ITIL framework and processes, particularly within service transition.

• Stakeholder Management: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders.

• Risk Management: Ability to identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with service transitions.

• Technical Understanding: A good understanding of IT infrastructure, applications, and technologies relevant to the insurance industry.

• Experience in BFSI: Prior experience in the Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance (BFSI) sector is highly desirable.

• Change Management: Experience in managing change within an organization, including communication and stakeholder engagement.

Desirable Skills & Knowledge:

•Broad knowledge of the UK Savings & Retirement sector, particularly both individual and workforce pensions

•Platform Awareness/Exposure (FNZ , TCS BaNCS, Sonata, iPipeline also useful)

•Awareness/Exposure Low / No-Code platforms (e.g. Appian)

•Data Analytics, AI and Machine Learning exposure (particularly in the Insurance space with platforms such as KOFAX, Five9, Avaamo)
