Role: Transport Sales Executive
Location: Marshall Mercedes- Benz Truck & Van Andover
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday with Saturdays and Sundays on a rota basis
Salary: Competitive basic plus uncapped OTE

The role
Are you a driven and experienced sales professional with a passion for the commercial vehicle industry? Do you thrive on building relationships and exceeding targets?
This is an incredibly exciting time to join our brand, particularly with the launch of the new Actros ProCabin. This innovative and market-leading vehicle sets new benchmarks, especially with its unparalleled safety features, making it a truly compelling proposition for our customers. Your role will be pivotal in leveraging this new product to capture significant market share in the tractor unit segment, which is a major part of the UK truck market.
In this exciting role, you'll be responsible for prospecting the Andover area and surrounding regions, identifying potential customers, and selling our comprehensive range of Daimler Truck solutions. This includes not only Mercedes-Benz and Fuso trucks, but also the crucial supporting elements of Repair & Maintenance contracts, advanced Digital Services, and tailored Finance packages. You'll be a key player in expanding our market share and delivering exceptional customer experiences.
Responsibilities
- New Business Development: Proactively identify, prospect, and secure new business opportunities within the assigned territory. This will involve significant time on the road, conducting cold calls, and generating new leads for our full suite of Daimler Truck products and services, with a particular focus on the innovative new Actros ProCabin.
- Comprehensive Solution Selling: Engage with customers to understand their specific operational needs and present tailored solutions encompassing new and used trucks, bespoke Repair & Maintenance agreements, value-adding Digital Services, and flexible Finance options.
- Customer Engagement & Demonstrations: Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with new and existing customers. This includes effectively utilizing company demonstrators to showcase vehicle capabilities and secure business, particularly highlighting the advanced features of the new models.
- Product Expertise: Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of all Daimler Truck products, features, specifications, and associated services. You'll convey the exceptional quality, advanced technology, and industry-leading safety that sets these vehicles and their support ecosystem apart.
- Sales Process Management: Manage the entire sales cycle from initial contact and needs analysis through to quotation, generating detailed proposals, negotiation, and closing the sale.
- Achieve Sales Targets: Consistently meet and exceed agreed-upon sales targets and KPIs across all aspects of truck and associated service sales.
- OEM Liaison: Effectively liaise with the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), Daimler Truck, to stay updated on product developments, promotions, and ensure smooth order processing and customer support.
- Upholding Values: Consistently uphold Marshall values in all interactions with both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring professionalism and integrity that reflects positively on the brand.
- Market Intelligence: Stay informed about market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to identify new opportunities and adapt sales strategies. You'll specifically track the impact of the new product launch on market dynamics.
- CRM Management: Accurately record and manage customer information and sales activities within our CRM system, ensuring data integrity and effective pipeline management.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the service, parts, and finance departments to ensure a seamless customer experience from sale through to aftercare.
- Compliance: Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and industry regulations, especially those related to vehicle sales and finance.
Who you are
- Proven experience in a sales role, ideally within the commercial vehicle or automotive industry, with a strong understanding of B2B sales cycles.
- Demonstrable track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets and a clear understanding of what it takes to drive revenue.
- Strong prospecting, negotiation, and proposal generation skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, capable of engaging with a diverse range of customers and stakeholders, including those at C-Suite level.
- Self-motivated, resilient, and target-driven with a hunter mentality and comfortable with extensive cold calling and field-based sales.
- Ability to work independently, manage a busy sales pipeline, and spend significant time travelling within the territory.
- Good understanding of commercial vehicle specifications, operating costs, and customer operational needs, particularly in relation to total cost of ownership.
- Proficient in using CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- A full, clean UK driving license is essential, ideally with experience driving commercial vehicles for demonstration purposes.
- Knowledge of Daimler Truck products (Mercedes-Benz Trucks, Fuso), their associated services, and the broader commercial vehicle market is highly desirable.
