The Trust is seeking a Trust grade doctor for a split post between the Early Interventions Team (Sefton) 0.6 WTE and 0.4 WTE Kirkby CMHT. 1 session per week will be dedicated to attendance to the Local Academic Program or alternative CPD activity.

Early Intervention Team (EIT)

The Early Intervention in Psychosis Service in Sefton is recruiting a Trust grade doctor. The EIT is a multidisciplinary community mental health service that provides treatment and support to people experiencing a first episode of psychosis. The service aims to improve the detection of psychosis, reducing delays in treatment, enhancing chances for immediate and long-term recovery. Outreach work is common. The role will involve assessment of those new to service with development of biopsychosocial management plans. The postholder will also undertake reviews of the care plans of service users over their 3 years with the service. The post holder will also support urgent reviews when service users mental health deteriorates, and if appropriately skilled, MHA assessments.

Kirkby CMHT

The Trust is seeking a Trust doctor to join Kirkby CMHT based at Northwood House (Kirkby Hub). The post holder will carry no responsibility for inpatients and is split with the EIT in Southport as above. New referrals average 4 per week from inpatient services, A&E and the access team. Referrals are screened daily and discussed in weekly MDT meeting and allocated to medical review, or CPN input as required.

This post will support the work of the Sefton Early Intervention Team Consultant and Team as well as the Kirkby CMHT. The Sefton EIT service who provide care for approximately 260 service users between the ages of 14 and 65, all of whom are managed within the Care Programme Approach. Medical care for those under 16 is provided by CAMHS.

The role will involve assessment of those new to service with development of biopsychosocial management plans. Duties of this role include while with the Kirkby team is to support the consultant and team in assessment and management of patients while ensuring quality and patient safety.
