As a Principal/Senior Railway Traction Power Engineer, you’ll leverage your expertise to model and analyse AC and DC traction-power systems, deliver cutting-edge solutions, and lead critical engineering studies. You’ll mentor emerging talent, master our world-leading software, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and key stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop end-to-end traction-power system studies, modelling and analysis (AC and DC)
• Oversee and conduct critical engineering studies, ensuring technical excellence
• Mentor and guide junior engineers, building a high-performing team
• Collaborate cross-functionally with project stakeholders to achieve on-time, high-quality delivery

Preferred Attributes

• Degree-qualified or equivalent demonstrable experience
• Professional registration (e.g. Chartered Engineer, PE licence) or actively working towards it
• Proficiency with electrical-system design software (ETAP, PSCAD, DigSILENT PowerFactory, OpenPowerNet, MATLAB/Simulink)
• Strong familiarity with relevant electrical, traction-power and rail-industry regulations and standards
• In-depth knowledge of traction-power supply systems and interfaces (infrastructure and rolling stock)
• Expertise in load-flow, short-circuit, transient-stability, protection-coordination and EMC studies
