Within this, our Water & Industry division is powering ahead – expanding rapidly across the UK as we support critical infrastructure, manufacturing, food & beverage, paper, chemical, and industrial wastewater treatment sectors.
We are now seeking a strategic, technically credible, and commercially sharp UK Sales Manager to lead our national sales team across all product and service lines in the non-utilities market. Your deep understanding of industrial wastewater treatment processes, equipment, and compliance requirements – including technologies such as SAFF (Surface Active Foam Fractionation) and DAF (Dissolved Air Flotation) – will be key in driving growth, building trusted relationships, and delivering engineered solutions that solve real-world water challenges for our customers.
This position is central to our growth journey. You’ll shape and execute the commercial strategy, manage key customer relationships, coach and develop a high-performing team, and open new revenue streams by promoting tailored rotating equipment services and engineered solutions for industrial water and wastewater applications.
Main Tasks And Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a national sales team across the UK industrial segment (excluding utilities).
- Define and deliver growth strategies to exceed OI and margin targets.
- Build scalable, profitable partnerships with industrial customers, especially those in water-intensive sectors.
- Leverage your knowledge of industrial wastewater treatment technologies – including SAFF, DAF, process optimisation, solids handling, and regulatory compliance – to position Sulzer as a trusted partner.
- Collaborate closely with operations, product managers, and service teams to deliver tailored solutions.
- Drive the introduction of long-term service agreements and other commercial initiatives.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs (VOC) to inform pricing, positioning, and service innovation.
To succeed in this role, you will need
- Extensive experience in the industrial market with a strong technical understanding of wastewater treatment processes, particularly SAFF and DAF systems.
- Knowledge of pumps or rotating equipment, especially in water and wastewater applications.
- Proven leadership experience within a commercial or sales organisation.
- Demonstrated success in developing customer relationships and delivering against ambitious sales targets.
- Skilled in market analysis, commercial strategy, and contract negotiation.
- A recognised qualification in Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related discipline is preferred but not essential.

Role Location: Home-based, with responsibility for customers across the UK. You’ll manage your own schedule, balancing customer site visits, working from home, and time in our facilities. Midlands-based is ideal but not essential – what matters most is your willingness to travel nationwide.
