UK VAT Specialist Role Overview
- Lead the preparation and submission of UK VAT returns.
- Provide VAT advice on business transactions, contracts, and new projects.
- Manage VAT audits and liaise with HMRC.
- Monitor changes in VAT legislation and assess their impact on the business.
- Support the implementation of VAT controls and process improvements.
- Collaborate with finance, legal, and commercial teams to ensure VAT compliance and efficiency.
- This role offers the opportunity to work with the wider European VAT team to manage and/or support with pan-European VAT compliance and advisory matters in other jurisdictions.
- This is a hybrid position. Coming into the office up to 2 days a week in Coventry
About You The ideal candidate will have:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in UK VAT, ideally within a large corporate or advisory environment.
- Strong understanding of VAT legislation, compliance, and reporting requirements.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle) and VAT reporting tools.
- Ability to interpret complex data and legislation.
- Confident in presenting advice to senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
- Experience managing VAT-related projects and process improvements.
