UK VAT Specialist Role Overview

• Lead the preparation and submission of UK VAT returns.
• Provide VAT advice on business transactions, contracts, and new projects.
• Manage VAT audits and liaise with HMRC.
• Monitor changes in VAT legislation and assess their impact on the business.
• Support the implementation of VAT controls and process improvements.
• Collaborate with finance, legal, and commercial teams to ensure VAT compliance and efficiency.
• This role offers the opportunity to work with the wider European VAT team to manage and/or support with pan-European VAT compliance and advisory matters in other jurisdictions.
• This is a hybrid position. Coming into the office up to 2 days a week in Coventry

About You The ideal candidate will have:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in UK VAT, ideally within a large corporate or advisory environment.
• Strong understanding of VAT legislation, compliance, and reporting requirements.
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle) and VAT reporting tools.
• Ability to interpret complex data and legislation.
• Confident in presenting advice to senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
• Experience managing VAT-related projects and process improvements.
