We are looking for someone with ambition, drive, a vision for the future, you will oversee the production, despatch, delivery and service to the customer of food, bars and agreed services is managed effectively whilst ensuring food quality standards. You will manage operational managers focusing on all inflight catering activities with effective compliance, continuous improvement strategies and KPI reporting processes in place. Key Accountabilities And Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all Departments in the unit, including but not limited to, Food production, Transportation, Equipment Processing, Stores/Warehouse, Dish-room, Quality Assurance/QHSE Compliance, and all other related departments to ensure production standards and customer service requirements are met.
- Ensure customer requirements/specifications and service requirements are complied with on all airline accounts. This includes production processing, on-time performance, equipment inventory, and quality assurance controls.
- Monitor all menu cycles to ensure customer service and satisfaction is not interrupted. Ensure that proper equipment is maintained and controlled in the Unit for operation excellence.
- Manage operation staff on a day-to-day operation aspect to drive for exceeding set targets.
- Ensure implementation and update of volume, hours forecast and actual data file to track productivity levels and manage hours utilization to meet / exceed the set targets.
- Support, assist and develop lean initiatives and quality initiatives to achieve operational efficiencies.
- Monitor all training programs that are required to be conducted to ensure adherence to all Newrest policies and procedures. Coordinate and support all staff development.
- Support and ensure compliance to all customer, internal and external audit requirements.
- Ensure all annual performance evaluations of staff.
- Maintain customer communication with all airline representatives to ensure all requests, investigations, and or related issues are concluded to the satisfaction of the customer and Newrest standards.
- Ensures the security of the facility by monitoring and maintaining existing protocols.
- Responsible for setting, monitoring and improving a key performance metrics for the unit.
- Promote and drive Continuous Improvements, with a drive to meet business objectives and goals set.
- Manage project work and lead and support start up new airlines.
- Be both analytical and business minded to compile effective business plans and solutions.
- Prioritize workloads to ensure duties are carried out in a timely manner.
- Work on own initiative working at pace and with a high level of accuracy always.
- Manage time and attendance system and timely submission to payroll.
- Effective management of employee forums.
- Adhere to Unit safety measures in place.
- Adhere to inflight services security compliance.
- Adhere to clean as you go standard.
- Interact with, colleagues, customers and clients in a professional manner at all times.
- Drive, direct and implement unit Corporate, Social, Responsibility initiatives.
- Any other duties as requested by your manager.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years' experience in catering (desirable).
- Highly driven with a proven track record of improvements in operational effectiveness.
- Excellent communication, team work and customer service skills.
- Good literacy skills, verbal and written.
- Operational understanding of HACCP, COSHH, DVLA requirements.
- Diverse interpersonal skills and the ability to manage teams and client relationships.
- Hold a full UK Driving license.
