Role: Unit Manager – HR
Location: London, UK
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic HR Manager with a strong focus on Employee Relations to lead and support HR functions in the UK. This role is pivotal in building a positive and compliant workplace culture, driving employee engagement, and fostering strong communication across all levels of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a trusted HR partner to business unit and regional leadership, driving the design and execution of people strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Take ownership of complex employee relations matters, providing expert guidance on performance management, disciplinary actions, grievance handling, and workplace investigations.
- Interpret and apply UK employment laws to ensure full HR compliance, mitigate risk, and maintain a fair and inclusive work environment.
- Monitor legal and regulatory developments, proactively updating internal policies and processes in alignment with statutory requirements.
- Lead initiatives that promote employee engagement, wellbeing, and workplace satisfaction, tailoring solutions to meet local needs.
- Provide HR support across the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, training, compensation & benefits, and policy implementation.
- Support internal and external audits, legal proceedings, and investigations in collaboration with legal and compliance teams.
Skill Required
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in human resources, Business Management, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- 10+ years of HR experience in the UK, preferably in a multinational or matrix organization, with demonstrated strength in employee relations, UK labour law, and HR compliance.
- Proven ability to manage sensitive ER issues with discretion, fairness, and legal soundness.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and partner with stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, especially in high-pressure or complex situations.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity, adapt quickly to change, and lead with empathy and confidence in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
