We are seeking a highly motivated Registered Nurse with extensive knowledge and experience in caring for patients with urological diseases to join our dynamic urology team.

Key Responsibilities

Manage a caseload of urology patients with autonomy and confidence

Provide specialised care, using your advanced communication skills to support patients through their treatment journey

Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care

The Urology Oncology clinical nurse specialists are responsible for establishing and maintaining effective communication with various individuals and groups on complex potentially stressful topics in a range of situations.

They will continuously develop knowledge and practice to improve patient experience and satisfaction and contribute to the development of Urological services utilising a quality improvement approach.

The role of the Macmillan Uro Oncology clinical nurse specialist is central to the promotion of peoples equality, diversity and rights. There is a need to assess and address peoples health and wellbeing needs when those needs are complex and change across the caseload.

The development of practice in addressing individuals health and wellbeing needs to deliver holistic needs assessment whilst leading others in the development of knowledge, ideas and work practice.

As an integral part of the role there is an expectation to assist in the development of audit and research programmes relating to the Urology Service and take an active role within these programmes and utilise and disseminate findings as appropriate both locally and nationally.
