Description

Methods is urgently looking multiple User Researchers contract basis for a piece of work at a government client:


Client: Central Government Department

Role: User Researcher

Day rate: £500 inside IR35

Remote with adhoc travel to a Northern hub bases: Manchester/Sheffied/Blackpool/Birmingham/Newcastle

Contract length - ASAP till 23rd October 2026


Essential

· Proven experience conducting user research in fast-moving or ambiguous environments (e.g., innovation hubs, R&D, labs, pilots).

· Experience researching physical spaces, comms and marketing, and other formats; not just digital interfaces.

· Strong practical research skills: planning studies, conducting fieldwork, analysing findings, producing clear outputs.

· Comfort responding to pre-defined briefs and delivering quickly with minimal hand-holding.

· Ability to translate insights into actionable recommendations for trial teams.


Desirable

· Knowledge of experimentation approaches (A/B testing, pilots, controlled trials).

· Experience working with operational or frontline teams.

· Familiarity with public-sector contexts or complex stakeholder environments
