The Role

We are seeking a User Researcher to join us on a permanent basis via the Robert Walters Consultancy. Your first assignment will be at Vanguard, in London. For this role, we are seeking candidates with experience in leading and delivering end-to-end user research and usability initiatives across web and mobile platforms, generating actionable insights that improve user experience, influence stakeholders, and drive business impact.

What You'll Do

Provides usability support to business and IT teams across web and mobile platforms for European projects, selecting the most effective qualitative or quantitative research methods to generate meaningful insights.

Plans, designs, and leads user research, usability testing, and heuristic evaluations, applying human factors research to enhance business, technology, and processes.

Conducts professional user interviews and contextual inquiries, ensuring privacy while gathering valuable feedback and identifying user needs.

Analyzes and presents insights to design teams and decision-makers, recommending strategies to secure business buy-in.

Provide strategic usability recommendations grounded in user needs and best practices, while educating teams on the value of usability.

Identifies key usability opportunities, delivers strategic recommendations to leaders, and supports adoption of critical improvements in collaboration with Insight and CX teams.

Contributes to developing usability standards and practices, mentoring junior researchers in UX best practices.

Supports additional projects and responsibilities as required.

What You Bring

At least 5 years' experience in user research.
Strong background in user research, usability testing, heuristic evaluation, and usability/design interviews (including online)

Experience across web and mobile platforms using human-centred design principles

Confident delivering actionable insights and engaging stakeholders across business and IT

Financial services exposure a plus

Proactive, eager to learn, and able to share relevant case studies
