An exciting opportunity has arisen within the UH Sussex Vascular Nurse Specialist team, a one-year secondment at Band 7. The vascular nursing team cover cross site (Brighton, Haywards Heath, Worthing, and St Richards) undertaking ward-based assessments, nurse led clinics and coordinating care between sites. The post is available early in 2024 and will be mainly based in West Sussex.
We would welcome applications from enthusiastic and committed registered B6 nurses with a high level of clinical decision making, sound theoretical and practical knowledge base, clinical experience in vascular care or tissue viability is essential.
Successful applicants will be offered a specific development plan, working within the framework developed by the Society of Vascular Nurses.
We welcome applications from those who currently hold a UK NMC registration. If you currently hold an overseas nursing qualification and require sponsorship we are not currently direct hiring Internationally Qualified Nurses.
The role will involve working within the VNS team allowing daily coordination of the vascular service and caseload management of both inpatients and outpatients. This will involve running nurse led claudication and wound care clinics.
You will need excellent communication skills and be able to deliver teaching and advice to other healthcare professionals, patients and their family / carers.
The post entails working within the vascular multi professional team and will involve a review of patients across any hospital site within UH Sussex.
The job will also involve covering some sessions for the National Aneurysm Screening Programme, managing referrals and undertaking nurse assessment clinics.
