Job Introduction
Are you a skilled and reliable Vehicle Mechanic seeking a new opportunity? Come and join us at National Grid Electricity Distribution (NGED) and be part of the Operations Support Transport Team.
Based at our Stoke garage you will be working 37 hours per week Monday to Friday, playing a vital role in maintaining the vehicle fleet.
You will be part of a team consisting of four and work on a variety of specialist vehicles ensuring they are fit for purpose and ready to support our engineers in the field.
Main Responsibilities
Our Transport teams ensure National Grids fleet operation is on the road 24/7, 365 days a year. Helping to ensure the vehicle fleet is maintained with minimum downtime to enable the fleet to be operated in the most cost effective and efficient way possible.
Ideal Candidate
You will be a skilled and experienced mechanic holding an NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent qualification.
A full driving license is essential for this role and holding a valid LGV (Class C) driving licence would be advantageous but is not essential as training can be provided to the successful candidate.
Alongside a good approach to customer service you will have the ability to work well by yourself as well as working within a team environment. You will be able to consistently maintain high quality standards and work within given timescales.
Evidence of your qualifications will be required prior to appointment.
National Grid Electricity Distribution is committed to safeguarding the interests of the Company, colleagues and customers. This role is subject to a satisfactory Barring Service, (DBS) check, depending on the role different levels of screening and vetting are required. Some roles require a triannual check.
