Venture Capital Associate – London (2+ PQE)

I’m working with a well-established corporate practice looking to add an Associate to its Venture Capital team in London.

This role would suit a corporate lawyer who enjoys working with high-growth businesses and the investors that back them, and who wants exposure to the full lifecycle of venture-backed companies, from early-stage fundraising through to later-stage growth and exit.

The role

You’ll advise on a broad range of venture capital matters, including:

• early-stage and growth equity investments
• venture and seed funding rounds
• advising founders, startups and scale-ups on investment transactions
• acting for venture funds, angels and other investors
• supporting clients through multiple funding rounds and strategic transactions

The work is hands-on and relationship-driven, with a strong focus on understanding clients’ commercial objectives and helping them navigate growth.

You’ll also work closely with colleagues in complementary areas (such as IP and commercial teams) on matters involving innovative and technology-led businesses, including those with an international element.

About you

• E&W Qualified solicitor with 2+ years’ PQE
• Experience in venture capital, growth equity or corporate transactions involving high-growth companies
• Comfortable advising both companies and investors
• Background at a City, international or strong corporate-focused firm
• Commercial, pragmatic and enthusiastic about the venture capital ecosystem
