About

the roleWe're currently looking for an ambitious and enthusiastic Virtual Desktop Infrastructure Engineer to join our European IT team, based near Birmingham, UK (hybrid working available).The role is responsible for designing and implementing Virtual Desktop Infrastructure solutions, enhancing user experience and ensuring security and scalability. This role will also support the transition to a modern workplace environment, deploying VDI solutions, and managing the seamless deployment of applications to ‘low-bandwidth’ operationa

l sites.

• e you'll:Design and implement VDI solutions that meet business needs and enhance user ex
• perience.Manage and deploy applications seamlessly to ‘low-bandwidth’ operational sites, ensuring optimal per
• formance.Enhance user experience with VDI by optimising performance and ensuring security and sca
• lability.Monitor and manage VDI environments to ensure high uptime and rel
• iability.Reduce reliance on legacy applications by supporting modern virtualization tech
• nologies.Collaborate with other IT teams and stakeholders to ensure alignment and support for VDI ini

tiatives.
Experience & qual

ificationsTo be successful in this role yo

• u'll need:Proven project management skills, with the ability to work well under pressure and meet
• deadlines.Experience with multiple Cloud software products, platforms an
• d vendors.Demonstrable professional accreditations / certifications such as ITIL, PMP, Prince2, TOGAF, PMBOK,
• Azure etc.An in-depth knowledge of VDI technologies and best
• practices.A detailed understanding and experience of deploying applications to production env
• ironments.A knowledge of security and compliance standards releva
• nt to VDI.Language: English (Fluent). Desirable: Second European Language (
• preferred)Excellent written and verbal communication skills with people at all levels across the org
• anisation.Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple p
• riorities.The ability to translate business requirements into viable technical
• solutions.Excellent stakeholder management skills (all di
• rections).The ability to communicate complex concepts to technical and non-technical
• audiences.Significant hands-on, technical experience of working as part of an IT operations team in a virtualisa
• tion role.A college diploma or university degree in business, information systems, or a related techni
• cal field.Proven experience of working in a federated mat
• rix model.Experience with VDI platforms such as Azure Virtual Desktop, Citrix, o

r similar.
