Are you ready to nurture professional relationships in support of the educational success of Ealing’s children looked after?
We are looking for two enthusiastic and committed individuals to join Ealing Virtual School in our work to support children in care, specifically to support us to improve their educational achievement.
You will join other members of the team who work with schools, social workers and carers – the list is long – however the goal is the same. Your role is to ensure everyone has the information, advice, guidance and support they need to prevent any drift or delay in ensuring each child or young person has access to appropriate education, is engaged in their learning and confident to access the opportunities available to them. Your own actions will be varied and will require determination to secure outcomes. You will provide direct advice, support and training to a range of professionals and through this ensure that the termly PEP is completed by all.
There will be differences and complexities in situations so you will need to be creative and innovative to ensure the best next step is identified and taken. You will be managing information from different sources to ensure that information is up to date and readily available; responding to general enquires and providing specialist advice.
One of the vacancies also has a focus on Children who have left care on an order – adoption order, special guardianship or child arrangement order and also those in a kinship arrangement. This focus is specifically on providing advice and support about education; liaising with the adults in the lives of these children.
You will join a changing team, forming part of a new structure that includes an operational Deputy Head teacher. In this you will be well supported as you learn your new role.
We would encourage a conversation about the role, please contact the Virtual headteacher, Andrew Martin, through ealingvirtualschool@ealing.gov.uk
