Role: Sustainability & Social Value Intern
Hours: 225 hours to be worked over 6-10 weeks – working pattern to be negotiated.
Location: Location: Hybrid; ideally able to work from the Bath office at least 1 day per week (Tuesday or Wednesday) but open to discussing other models of remote/hybrid working.
The Role
We're facing a climate emergency—and at Julian House, we're rising to the challenge. We're committed to reducing our environmental impact while supercharging the positive difference we make in our communities. That’s why we’re strengthening our Social Value Offer, updating our Sustainability Policy, and launching our Carbon Reduction Plan. This exciting internship offers the chance to work closely with our Business Development Manager—the driving force behind our Social Value work—to help shape key documents and initiatives that will power real change.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop a Carbon Literacy training package to be rolled out to Julian House staff, to increase their level of understanding of our environment impact and how they can take individual and collective action to reduce our carbon footprint.
- Develop staff questionnaire to determine how we can most effectively promote green and active travel.
- Review our Sustainability Policy and propose updates in line with sector best practice and Julian House guidance on accessibility and inclusivity.
- Other duties as required
What We’re Looking For
- Demonstrable knowledge of environmental sustainability and social value principles. (Working towards) a degree in a relevant discipline would be an advantage.
- Excellent IT skills – MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
- Some experience working in an office environment would be desirable.
