As a Trustee specialising in Major Donor and Corporate engagement, you will play a pivotal role in shaping UK-Med’s future. Your expertise will help us forge and strengthen strategic partnerships with major donors and corporate supporters, ensuring we have the resources to respond to global emergencies and provide life-saving healthcare where it's needed most. This is a critical role, helping us expand our network of supporters and secure the funding necessary to achieve our mission of preparing and supporting health systems to respond to crises. Your contributions will directly impact our ability to deliver essential services to vulnerable communities around the world. By offering your unique skills and insights, you will help drive the strategic progression of UK-Med, allowing us to build sustainable relationships with major donors and corporate partners. Together, we can ensure that our vital work reaches more people and creates lasting change in the most challenging contexts. Your leadership and dedication will ensure that UK-Med remains a trusted and effective organization, empowering our teams to save lives and strengthen health systems worldwide.

What are we looking for?

A professional qualification relevant to the work of the board or work of UK-Med Experience relevant for charity governance roles (e.g. previous leadership / governance roles) Experience working with major donors and corporates with a sound understanding and experience of charity fundraising at strategic and operational levels Fostering relationships with high-profile and high-net-worth individuals as potential donors to the organisation Contributing to the development of fundraising strategies and supporting efforts to increase independent, private and unrestricted income. An understanding of the humanitarian and / or health sector

What will you be doing?

Hours We aim to be transparent about the time commitment required for this role. While we strive to balance the needs of the organization with respect for your time, we anticipate an average of 6 full days per year, in addition to a minimum of 4-6 hours per month. This includes attending key meetings, participating in essential activities, and contributing to ongoing projects. We expect in-person attendance at quarterly Board meetings whenever feasible. Pay Unpaid Volunteer role (reasonable expenses will be reimbursed for Board related work) Duration 3 years with possible extension. UK-Med is a frontline medical aid charity. Born of the NHS, we’ve been working for over 30 years towards a world where everyone has the healthcare they need when crises or disasters hit. UK-Med invites applications to join our Board of Trustees from well-connected individuals with a track record of securing significant gifts for charities from individuals or corporations. The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience in networking and fostering partnerships with corporate and individual donors, trusts, fundraisers and other stakeholders. They will play a pivotal role in supporting our small but growing fundraising team to develop and deliver the UK-Med fundraising strategy and supporting fundraising efforts through networking, soliciting gifts and championing the work of the charity at events and meetings. You will be passionate about what we do and committed to using your experience and expertise to contribute to the strategic development and good governance of the charity.
