Position Summary
The role is for a senior Development and Delivery executive to lead modernization and innovation efforts for the Banking product line coordinating with development managers to form an advanced R&D arm providing next-generation products and services for Bottomline’s customers. The successful candidate will lead the design and development of modern integrations framework and the delivery of integrations that will be foundational items for new capability development led by both this team and other groups within banking engineering.
Essential Job Functions
Delivery
- Own the development and delivery program for a portfolio of products including 3rd party integrations and ‘plus-one’ services and features
- Collaborate and coordinate with key central groups – Platform Services, UX/UI, Operations, and others as needed – to enable end to end delivery and alignment with strategic technology direction
- Coordinate with Banking Solutions product management and development teams to ensure that development roadmaps are aligned to incorporate new features, services and 3rd parties
- Drive rapid development and delivery of innovative solutions for our franchise of major U.S. Banks
- Truly embrace agile development and delivery and teach the team to embrace rapid prototyping and delivery methodologies.
- Create a scalable and repeatable model for rapid iteration and delivery of integrations to banking cores, business services, and other third-party providers needed to enrich our offerings
Direction
- Act as the overall senior technology leader. Set technology direction consistent with the Bottomline platform strategy and target model, working with the Global Architecture team to implement future Banking architecture.
- Work with other product line leaders to help them align their products with the Banking technology direction
- Act as chief communicator and evangelist for our ‘plus-one’ services and 3rd party integrations both internally and externally
- Own and drive the Banking Labs concept – creating a space for tip of the spear research and innovation to drive Banking competitive advantage, eventually a shared lab with partners in the ecosystem
Team
- Build a modern, first-class development and delivery function for the portfolio initiatives. This should be consistent with modern, SaaS, Cloud-based development
- Acting as leader and chair, collaborate with the product line Development Leaders to create a target org and skills model for all engineering functions in Banking
- Working with product line leaders, and the right central teams, put in place a training and development program to upskill all engineers toward the target model
Required Skills
Technical
- Experienced in scaled Enterprise delivery of cloud native/SaaS products and solutions
- Has experience in the migration from on prem/first gen SaaS to modern cloud-based architecture – Micro Services, API first, CI/CD, Automation etc.
- Proven track record in leveraging public cloud technology and deployment – AWS/Azure/GCP
- Preferably has worked in Fintech or other regulated type environments
- Experienced with EAI patterns and integrations especially in the Fintech space
Delivery
- Can demonstrate a track record of development and delivery of complex SaaS solutions
- Pragmatic approach to balancing commercial and technical priorities to ensure on time delivery
- Experienced in Agile and scaling approaches to modern development and delivery, particularly in a multi-team, multi-service environment
- Track record of building and developing first-class development teams who consistently deliver

Education And Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience
