Ivy House – Supported Living Service, Barnet
Ivy House is a Supported Living Service in Barnet for adults with Learning Disabilities. The service has capacity for 7 people and currently supports 5 adults. Each resident has their own individual room, with shared access to kitchen and bathroom facilities.
At Ivy House, people are supported to develop their daily living skills, including shopping, budgeting, attending health appointments, and participating in social events. The service is conveniently located near Barnet High Street, which offers a variety of shops, and has excellent transport links via buses and the Underground (High Barnet Station – Northern Line). Residents also have easy access to a nearby park and local museum for leisure activities.

The Role
We provide individuals with practical and emotional care, enabling them to live as full a life as possible. You will work flexible shifts, including bank holidays, weekends, and potential sleep-ins.
Main Duties
Implement individual support plans and activities
Maintain effective communication with service users, families, and colleagues
Support service users with meals, laundry, cleaning, and social events
Maintain accurate notes and records
Work as part of a team to provide high-quality care
Support young adults with learning disabilities, mental health issues, behavioural difficulties, autism, and physical disabilities
Personal Characteristics
Diploma in Health and Social Care (or willingness to work towards one)
Experience supporting adults with challenging behaviour, learning disabilities, or mental health needs
Ability to stay calm under pressure
Confidence to work independently or as part of a team
Excellent communication skills
Passion for working with vulnerable adults
Commitment to safeguarding and high standards of care
