Description
We have an opportunity for a Ward Clerk on Ward 39 in York Hospital. Currently Ward 39 is the Fractured Neck of Femur ward, providing pre and post-surgical care for elderly patients.

Interested applicants must have excellent communication skills, be a good team player and enjoy meeting and working with the public.

Basic computer skills are also a requirement for the job and NHS experience would be an advantage, however full training will be given to the successful applicant on use of the hospital computer systems.

  • Receive general enquiries, via the telephone, email or face to-face, from for example, patients, visitors, staff and others, possibly both internal and external.
  • Undertake basic Clerical tasks, such as:
  • production and issuing of already prepared standard and routine letters
  • distribution of incoming/outgoing post
  • filing
  • retrieval of files
  • photocopying
  • completion of standard Forms/Returns including the ordering of stock and supplies.
  • Type/word process routine letters and other appropriate documents.
  • Input data to relevant computerised databases
  • Ensure that both Trust and local Policies and Procedures are followed as necessary to own work
