You will have the opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of vulnerable patients, often those at the most critical juncture in their healthcare journey. The role allows you to be at the forefront of patient-centered care, working collaboratively with a range of specialists to ensure that frail older adults are assessed holistically, treated effectively and supported through their care transitions.

This role is ideal for someone passionate about geriatric care, multi-disciplinary teamwork and improving patient outcomes in a highly supportive environment.

As a Ward Manager in a Frailty Assessment Unit (Amber Unit), you will be responsible for the day-today management of the unit, ensuring that high standards of patient care are delivered to older adults with complex medical needs. This role involves managing a multidisciplinary team, including nurses, healthcare support workers, therapists (Admission Avoidance Team) and doctors, to asses and manage frail patients, often with multiple co-morbidities.

As a Ward Manager of the unit, it takes to have:

Strong leadership skills: the ability to lead a diverse team and drive high-quality care with compassion.

In-depth Clinical Knowledge: Understanding the complexities of frailty and managing the complex needs of older adults.

Empathy and Communication: A compassionate, empathetic approach to dealing with patients and families in a sensitive, often emotional environment.
