Working as a Ward Sister entails great leadership, encompassing communication, collaborative working, innovating ways of working, and providing staff and patient safety at all times.
This post entails providing day to day leadership to the Nursing team within the ward, acting as a role model at all times whilst ensuring patients are receiving high quality evidence-based care.
You will adopt a highly visible and accessible approach for patients, their carers and relatives, and all staff within the MDT alike. They will lead by example and help to empower staff in their personal and professional development.
There is an expectation to work closely with the medical team and other agencies, to ensure patient care is given safely, promptly and appropriately, encouraging proactive discharge planning, and promoting maximum independence for patients.
**Post is for 23 hours per week**
To work as part of a team demonstrating effective communication, and working collaboratively with colleagues inside and out of the department.

We are looking for a passionate and committed Band 6 ward sister who has an interest in Elderly care or is interested in gaining a broad knowledge around this fantastic area of nursing.
Simpson is a 28 bedded healthcare of the elderly ward and receives a broad range of acute medical conditions. Working alongside the MDT you will get a chance to help change patients lives.
You will work as a ward sister within a multidisciplinary team. To promote and maintain a safe clinical environment for all patients, their carers, visitors and staff.
To comply with the Trust's values and expected behaviours and deliver a high standard of care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
To ensure care, assessments, treatment and documentation is delivered in line with Guidelines and to act as an advocate for patients, their families and staff.
