We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Sister / Charge Nurse to come and work with us on Ward G4, where we pride ourselves in being a welcoming, supportive and friendly team.
G4 is 32-bed ward specialises in supporting elderly patients following an acute episode of ill health, recognising the complexity of their needs and the importance of reducing the length of stay (LOS) to prevent them losing their independence. G4 is a fast-paced medical ward that gives the nursing team the opportunity to work with all members of the multidisciplinary team, resulting in high standards of patient care, which is something that we are all passionate about. We are keen on staff development, caring for patients with varied and complex medical conditions, which will in turn provide our staff with plenty of learning opportunities and the prospect to develop new skills. We believe that supportive leadership and good communication is vital in creating a strong and positive team dynamic, promoting team work and safe, high quality care for our patients. Therefore as a Band 6, your leadership would be integral to the ward in driving change and supporting the nursing team.
As a senior member of the team, you will be responsible for:
- Providing leadership on clinical shifts, managing the staff, coordinating the shift and ensuring patient safety at all times.
- You will be responsible for supporting and educating staff, ensuring the competency of colleagues and role modelling.
- Work together with the Ward Manager to provide support in ensuring safe, high standards and quality to the ward, patients and their families, whilst also deputising in their absence.
If you have the necessary skills, experience and qualities to help us to put patients first, please contact
Rosie Cawston, Ward Manager on 01284713179 for an informal discussion or to arrange a visit.
