We have a fantastic opportunity for a Warehouse Operative to join our team at one of our key distrubtion sites based at East Midlands Gateway. As a Warehouse Operative you will ensure the efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of a wide range of goods, supporting the smooth operation of the warehouse and contributing directly to customer satisfaction and overall business performance. This role plays a key part in maintaining accurate inventory, upholding safety standards, and enabling timely order fulfilment, which are critical to the organisation’s supply chain and service delivery.
This is a full-time permanent role working Monday – Friday from 08:00 – 16:30, and a great opportunity to grow with a company that’s passionate about developing talent, providing hand on training, and truly invested in your long-term success
How you create impact
- Time & Task Management: Accurately record working hours using the attendance register to ensure compliance with shift schedules and payroll accuracy
- Freight Handling & Accuracy: Scan all freight during loading and unloading to maintain accurate tracking and inventory control. Verify that paperwork matches consignments and report any discrepancies promptly to maintain data integrity
- Storage & Inventory Management: Store freight in designated racking locations or zones, following WMS putaway logic to optimise space and accessibility
- Safety & Compliance: Identify and handle hazardous consignments in compliance with safety regulations and company procedures.
- Order Fulfilment & Value-Added Services: Use Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) to pick, pack, and ship products accurately and efficiently.
- Customer Service & Team Collaboration: Deliver excellent service to internal and external stakeholders by resolving issues proactively and maintaining a professional approach.
What we would like you to bring
- Previous experience working in a fast-paced warehouse environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook etc.
- Customer service experience and able to demonstrate a willingness to go the extra mile for customers
- Ability to adapt to change and work in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
