ABOUT YOU

Due to continued success in environmental modelling and assessment projects in the UK and Ireland, Intertek Metoc is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Modeller who has experience in river, estuarine or coastal modelling, to join our well-established and growing team.

Required skills and experience:

• Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant technical subject
• Ideally you will have knowledge of at least one modelling package such as DELFT3D or MIKE, but we are also keen to learn about other skills that would help to broaden our expertise, for example, experience with the application of InfoWorks ICM.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including report writing
• Familiarity with Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Management Systems and compliance requirements for offshore projects.
• An interest in solving environmental challenges in rivers, lakes, estuaries and marine waters, using predictive models, advanced data analysis and management tools.

We use numerical modelling, advanced data analysis and technological innovations to deliver our clients’ cutting-edge solutions optimising environmental protection and asset management

Key activities:

• Problem-solving abilities, technical solutions and fast and responsive service
• Delivery examples include coastal and estuarine hydrodynamic and/or water quality modelling, bathing and shellfish water assessments, Water Framework Directive and UPM assessments, delivering the Environment Act, tidal energy optimization and impact modelling and environmental consent modelling
• Managing projects and maintaining client relationships
• Assisting with proposal writing, winning work and the development of new business by providing key technical inputs
• Conduct impact assessments and provide recommendations based on model outputs
• Engage with clients to understand their needs and communicate findings effectively
• Stay updated with the latest developments in water quality modelling and environmental regulations
• Delivering complex modelling projects – working with experts across a range of disciplines to apply your attention to detail and numerical skills to environmental engineering projects.
