Help Keep East Sussex Moving Safely This Winter
Are you looking for flexible, seasonal work where you can make a real difference? Join Balfour Beatty as a
Winter Maintenance Driver and play a vital role in keeping roads safe and accessible during the colder months.
This is a
zero-hour contract running from
1st October to 30th April, ideal for those seeking flexibility. You’ll be placed on a standby rota every other week, responding to weather conditions and ensuring roads are gritted and cleared of snow when needed.
What you'll be doing
- Carry out winter gritting and snow clearance across designated routes.
- Perform daily vehicle checks and ensure vehicles are refuelled and ready.
- Follow fleet movement procedures and maintain high safety standards.
- Deliver excellent customer service and represent Balfour Beatty professionally.
- Report close calls, good practices, and ensure compliance with driver regulations.

Mandatory Qualifications
- Full clean driving licence
- Class C Licence
- CPC (Driver Certificate of Professional Competence)
Desirable (Training Provided)
- Winter Service Units 613 & 680
- Tacho Card (can be applied for post-employment)
