An established UK-based organisation is embarking on the next major phase of its Workday transformation journey. Having successfully delivered HCM, Recruitment, and Compensation, the organisation is now implementing Workday Payroll and Absence Management with an April 2025 go-live deadline — a critical milestone as its current payroll platform is being retired.

To achieve this, the business is seeking a Workday Testing Lead to take ownership of the entire testing workstream, ensuring quality remains front and centre and that the project goes live with absolute confidence.

Role Purpose

The Workday Testing Lead will act as the quality champion, ensuring Payroll and Absence functionality works seamlessly for a workforce of over 3,000 UK employees across multiple sites. Working closely with the implementation partner, internal SMEs, and project teams, the Testing Lead will deliver a robust, fully validated solution ready for business use.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the Test Strategy: Define scope, phases, objectives, entry/exit criteria, and resourcing requirements.
• Manage Testing Phases: Oversee planning and execution, ensuring alignment with delivery milestones.
• Oversee JIRA Management: Maintain test scripts, scenarios, data, and defects in JIRA.
• Coordinate Defect Resolution: Lead triage calls, regression testing, and parallel runs.
• Manage Environments: Coordinate internal and external test environments and integration dependencies.
• Produce Reporting: Provide clear testing metrics and dashboards for leadership and governance forums.
• Facilitate Test Activities: Lead daily stand-ups and drive momentum during active test cycles.

Candidate Profile

• Essential: Proven Workday testing experience (Payroll and/or Absence experience highly desirable).
• Strong knowledge of test planning, execution, and defect management methodologies.
• Hands-on experience with JIRA for test and defect tracking.
• Exceptional attention to detail with a structured, analytical approach.
• Strong documentation and communication skills.
