The Site Assistant plays a key role in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and functionality of our site. This role involves supporting facilities with covering plant operations, repair and maintenance, general site upkeep, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations. The position requires working both indoors and outdoors, sometimes in challenging weather conditions, and operating plant, machinery, and hand/power tools.
- General site maintenance, including cleaning building facades, pathways, signage, parking areas, and roads.
- Assist in emergency situations, such as traffic control and site safety measures.
- Driving plant to support operations where required
- Support moving and handling furniture, equipment, and stock.
- Perform basic maintenance tasks and report any defects to the Facilities Team Leader.
- Conduct minor repairs as required.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures, following safe working methods and using appropriate PPE.
Qualifications
- No formal facility qualifications required, but a willingness to undertake training.
- Basic Health & Safety awareness (desirable).
- NPORS (minimum) Loading shovel and/or dumper qualification required
Skills
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and adhere to procedures.
- Basic understanding of maintenance and repair tasks.
- Comfortable using hand and power tools (training provided).
Experience
- Experience working in a facilities, maintenance, construction, or waste management environment (desirable but not essential).
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
Some exposure to mechanical, building construction, or repair work (desirable).
