Redruth Foyer is part of the Foyer Federation, where we embrace a strength-based approach called Advantaged Thinking. We encourage young people experiencing homelessness to aim high, dream big, and fulfill their ambitions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide Key Worker Support: Offer personalised support to young people, helping them develop life skills and work through action plans.
- Update Risk Assessments: Regularly review and update risk assessments and management plans to ensure the safety and progress of our residents.
- Deliver 1-2-1 Support Sessions: Conduct individual sessions focused on life skills, personal development, and goal setting.
- Support Medical Appointments: Assist young people in attending medical appointments, ensuring they receive the care they need.
- Contribute to Multi-Agency Meetings: Collaborate with other professionals to provide comprehensive support and create effective action plans.
- Facilitate Group Activities: Lead and support group activities as part of our learning program, fostering a sense of community and engagement.

What Will My Working Week Look Like?
Youth Development Workers operate on a four-week rolling rota with shifts that include 8am-4pm, 10am-6pm, and 1:30pm-9:30pm. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team on-site, supporting young people who can live with us for up to two years. The role includes some elements of lone working, ensuring every day is different and dynamic.
This role is being offered on a part time basis, working 29.6 hours per week on a rolling rota, including Bank Holidays and weekends, with bandwidth hours from 8am to 10pm.

This role is really suited to someone who likes to manage their own diary and caseload, and enjoys interacting with lots of people on a daily basis.

You will be able to balance your passion and commitment with good organisational skills, and the ability to maintain professional boundaries.
